An Introduction to Driveway Paving
Driveway paving is quite popular in the UK. It provides a heard-wearing surface for front gardens so you can park your cars, and also improves the outside appearance of a home. People will see the driveway first as they approach, so the better your driveway the bigger the impression! (You could also enhance this further with security gates and brick walls, but that’s for another article.)
If you are thinking of ways to improve your home you may want to consider getting resin bond driveways built to enhance it’s monetary value. A word of warning here, if you choose a bad building company or attempt a DIY method if you have no experience in building driveways, then it could go horribly wrong and you could end up with which does the opposite of enhancing your home! I would highly recommend using the services of a reputable landscaping and paving company. Often the ones with the best websites will be good, as this shows they take their business seriously. Do not go on this tip alone! You should do your research, get reviews and testimonials, check out their previous work. A good company will have a portfolio of previous work for you to see.
Now for a little about types of driveways to help homeowners and landlords decide on the best option for them. Driveways usually come in one of four types, these are Brick/Stone, Concrete, Asphalt (also called Tarmac) or Gravel, although they are most often constructed with block paving bricks or slabs. These are fairly small paving blocks which fit together in various ways to create an overall pattern which suits your home and taste. Another popular method for building a driveway is to use gravel, or shingle, in a loose way. This is also good for security as you will hear the distinct sound of the gravel when someone walks on it. You could also go for a concrete driveway, these will be cheaper to build, and offer a hard wearing, durable surface, but I must say, don’t look the best compared to a block paved driveway. Once you have made your decision about which type of driveway you want, the next step would be go and find a good company to build it for you. Finding a reputable company can be difficult, but do your checks and I’m sure you’ll find a good local company to carry out the work for you.
